British-Pakistani racing driver Enaam Ahmed has secured a groundbreaking achievement for Pakistani motorsports, finishing in fourth place at the Alabama Grand Prix and becoming the first Pakistani driver to achieve a Top 5 finish in a Grand Prix.

The race took place at Barber Motorsports Park, which is renowned as a top-tier motor racing series venue in the United States. The competition featured a field of 18 drivers, all recognized as some of the best in the world.

In only his second start in the Firestone IndyNXT Championship, a crucial stepping stone towards Indy cars, Ahmed showcased both skill and strategy to clinch the fourth-place position at Barber Motorsports Park.

Expressing his delight after the final results were announced, Ahmed said, “I am extremely pleased with the outcome and the tremendous effort put forth by my team, Cape Motorsports, especially considering this is their debut year in this series. I gained valuable points and was delighted to finish ahead of the championship leader. Although there were some initial challenges in the first few minutes, I managed to overcome them and never looked back.”

Ahmed further added, “It is a matter of great pride for me to represent Pakistan through my racing car.”

Starting from the ninth position on the grid amidst a field of 18 drivers, Ahmed’s skillful and calculated driving propelled him to sixth place after a race restart following an accident. On the final lap, he advanced to fourth place, marking a historic achievement for Pakistan motorsports as the highest-ever finish by a Pakistani driver in international motor racing’s top tier.

Ahmed has been making history since his karting days and has already secured the title of British Formula 3 Champion, becoming the first-ever Pakistani winner of a high-level Formula Championship. During the championship, he also surpassed Ayrton Senna’s record by winning 13 races in a single season.

At just 23 years old, Ahmed is gaining recognition worldwide for his exceptional talent, conquering treacherous tracks and reaching speeds of around 200 miles per hour while proudly displaying both the British and Pakistani flags on his car. He is considered one of the brightest and most captivating young talents in motorsport.

Since the age of 14, Ahmed has been triumphing in championships and setting new records, solidifying his position as the most accomplished Pakistani heritage racing driver in the history of motorsport.

Ahmed’s extraordinary journey will continue as he heads to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on May 13.
