Elon Musk has Announced that X will Start Hiding Reactions Such as Likes on Posts
Islamabad: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has confirmed that X, formerly known as Twitter, will soon hide users' like reactions to posts. According to Forbes, while the count of likes on others' posts will be concealed, users can still view how many people liked their own posts and how many posts they've liked.

Musk emphasized the importance of allowing people to like posts without fear of criticism. He shared on X, "Important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so."

Earlier in a post on May 21, X's director of engineering Haofei Wang announced the platform's upcoming change. He stated, "Public likes are incentivising the wrong behaviour ... many people feel discouraged from liking content that might be controversial due to fear of backlash from trolls or to protect their public image."

Senior Software Engineer Enrique Barragan had hinted at a policy shift in late May.

Under Musk's leadership, X has undergone several changes, including a rebranding and the introduction of a premium plan offering users more personalized options.
