Adil Nabi determined to help Pakistan win World Cup Qualifier

Adil Nabi, a talented midfielder, has stated that he will play for Pakistan in this year’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nabi is a British Pakistani who was born in Birmingham and presently plays for Athens Kallithea FC in the Greek football league system’s second division.

Adil is keen to help Pakistan win this year’s World Cup qualifier, something the team has never done before.

“In the June window, I will not be available, but I will be there for the World Cup qualifiers in October to make history and change Pakistan football,” Nabi told during an interview.

“I want to bring glory to Pakistan by making football a huge sport in the country.”

“Of course, it will be an honor to represent Pakistan’s national football team.” This month, my brother [Rahis Nabi] is already representing the country. Everyone in Pakistan is expecting me. The wait will be over shortly, InshaAllah [God willing].”

Adil also explained the reason for his absence from the next international matches in June, when the Shaheens will compete in a four-nation cup in Mauritius as well as the SAFF Championship in India.

“It [the reason for not being available for the June window] was because I had a busy schedule, so it wasn’t possible.” However, I will be closely monitoring everything that occurs throughout the June window. “I’m rooting for the boys!” He went on to say.

Adil, who can also play as a striker, has scored 41 goals and provided 21 assists in 182 matches thus far in his career.

Adil started his career in the youth ranks of West Bromwich Albion after joining their academy at the age of eight. He spent around 15 years at The Hawthorns before leaving in 2016.

He has, however, been working in Greece since 2019, where he has previously represented Atromitos and OFI Crete.

In 2015-16, he also spent time on loan with Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League, where he shared a changing room with Roberto Carlos, John Arne Riise, and Florent Malouda.

Adil also won the Asian Football Awards’ young player award in 2013 and has represented England’s national team at the Under-16 and Under-17 levels.

Adil’s younger brothers, Samir and Rahis, are also professional players who have been called up by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) for the upcoming matches.
